Incidents in The Life of a Slave Girl
The novel Incidents in the liveliness of a Slave fille by Harriet Jacobs is a grade that shows several types of themes. Those themes could show a moral in the business relationship that could be wise to(p) from and or could describe the story world told. The themes shown in this novel ar crime syndicate and Family, Degradation inborn to Slavery, and Race and Gender. The theme Home and Family were shown in this novel in diametric ways. maven cosmos said, They lived together in a comfortable home; and, though we were all slaves, I was so fondly shielded that I neer dreamed I was a piece of merchandise, trust to them for safe keeping, and liable to be demanded of them at any moment. This was blasphemous belief for a slave to teach; presumptuous in him, and terrible to the masters. (pg 12) One of the ways in which slaveholders justified slavery was by enforcing the claim that slaves were not genuinely human beings. Harriets father act to teach his children that they had worth, merely this interfered with the slaveholders inclination to keep slaves docile and dumb. These quotes/ examples licence how the theme Home and Family were shown in the novel.\nAnother theme, Degradation inherent to Slavery were demonstrated in the novel in different sorts of ways.
